Bantasy
How it works

Five steps, no fine print you have to hunt for.

  1. 01

    Sponsor one of your leagues

Creating a private league is free for everyone. A plan gives you hosting slots, and using one on a league is what puts a Bantasy-funded prize on it.

  2. 02

    Invite your mates, free

They join free, play free and can win. No card, no entry fee, nothing of theirs at stake. You can win it yourself as well.

  3. 03

Three on a plan switches it on

A league starts carrying a prize once 3 of its members hold a Bantasy plan, counting you, and at least 1 of those is a paid plan rather than a free trial. Until then the league runs as normal and we say plainly that it is not switched on yet.

  4. 04

    Everyone keeps playing

Keep your squad set each week and make at least one move a month. That is what counts as playing, and every member can see where they stand in the room before a cycle settles.

  5. 05

    A winner every single month

Not once a season. At the end of every monthly cycle the highest scorer among the members who played takes that month's prize, paid as cash by bank transfer. Then the next cycle starts and there is a new prize on the league.

  6. 06

And a champion at the end of the season

On top of every monthly prize, one season champion's prize worth 2 times a monthly one. It goes to the best season scorer among the members who played at least 50% of the league's cycles.

How the season works

A prize every month, then a champion at the end.

Sponsoring a league is not one prize you wait all year for. It is a run of them.

  1. Every month

    A monthly winner

Each calendar month is a cycle with its own prize on it, taken from the published table above. Whoever scores most that month among the members who played takes it. The next month starts fresh with a new prize, and everybody is level again.

  2. All season

The season table keeps running underneath

Your league's overall ladder never resets. Winning a month is worth cash on its own, and it is also points on the table that decides the season. Somebody can win two months and still be caught by the member who was steady all year.

  3. At the end

The champion's prize: 2 times a monthly band

When the season finishes, the top of that season table takes one more prize, worth 2times the league's monthly band. To be in the running for it you have to have played at least 50% of your league's monthly cycles: it is a prize for turning up all year, not for a hot April.

Who a prize is split between is the organiser's call.

When you create a league you choose how its prize divides across finishing spots, in the same step every Bantasy competition has always had. Leave it alone and the top scorer takes the lot. Set it to a top three and the same percentages divide every monthly prize and the season champion's prize as well. Your league states its own rule on its own page, in a sentence, so nobody has to work out what second place is worth.

It is decided once, when the league is created, and it is on screen before anyone plays a gameweek.

The conditions

Everything that decides whether a cycle pays.

All of it is in the prize rules too. It is here because nobody should learn a rule at the moment it costs them.

  • The amount is set by the table, not by the room. Each cycle settles at the band for the number of members who played that month. More members joining never inflates it, and nothing anyone buys moves it. That promise has its own page.
  • A cycle needs a league that actually plays. At least 60% of the members counted at the start of the cycle, and at least 6 of them, have to have kept their squad set and made a move that month. If not, nothing is paid for that cycle and the league carries on into the next one.
  • The season champion's prize has the same conditions. It is 2 times the band for the number of members who played across the season, it is paid once, at the end, and it needs the same 6qualifying members underneath it. A league that never had a paying cycle has no champion's prize.
  • We run a limited number each cycle. Bantasy funds every prize out of its own pocket, so only so many leagues can be switched on in a month. If we are at capacity your league is queued and starts with the next cycle, and the app tells you that rather than leaving you guessing.
  • Mates who join late start next cycle. Someone who joins after a cycle has begun plays and ranks straight away, and counts towards the prize from the following cycle.
  • Cash prizes depend on where you are. They are available to eligible players 18 and over in supported regions, and some regions play glory only. Check the eligibility page before you count on one.

What your mates pay.

Nothing. An invitee to a sponsored league joins free, plays free, needs no plan and no card, and is eligible for the prize on exactly the same terms as you. No purchase necessary to play.
