Prize rules
These prize rules govern Bantasy contests that offer a prize. They form part of, and should be read with, the Terms of service and the Privacy policy. Where these rules conflict with the published rules of an individual contest, the individual contest rules prevail for that contest.
1. Bantasy contests are games of skill
Every Bantasy contest is a game of skill. Entrants compete by applying knowledge, research and judgement: selecting and managing lineups, predicting sporting performance, and ranking on a points-based leaderboard. The winner is the entrant whose skill produces the best score under the published scoring rules.
- No chance mechanic decides any outcome. We do not use random draws, lotteries or chance to determine winners, placings, prizes, prize amounts or any reward.
- Ties are broken by skill, or split equally. Where a contest publishes a tie-break, it is a skill measure published before entry (for example the best single gameweek). Where a contest publishes none, the prize for the affected placings is pooled and split equally among the tied entrants. We never use chance to break a tie.
- Bantasy is a game of skill, not a lottery or a pooled-entry competition.
2. Eligibility
- You must be 18 or over and hold a valid Bantasy account in good standing.
- Prizes are only available in eligible jurisdictions. Whether a contest offers a prize, and whether you may receive one, depends on your location. Cash prizes are available to eligible players aged 18+ in supported regions. Availability depends on your location: some regions are glory-only (contests run on a skill-only, no-cash basis), and prizes are always subject to local law. Eligible regions and any per-jurisdiction conditions are as published on the Eligibility page and/or in the individual contest rules.
- Bantasy employees, contractors and their immediate families may be excluded from prizes where required.
- We may require identity, age and location verification before paying a prize (see Section 7).
3. How you enter: Bantasy Bucks, and no purchase necessary
- Contests are entered using Bantasy Bucks (BB), the multi-use in-app currency of Bantasy, spendable on cosmetics as well as being used to enter contests. Bantasy Bucks have no cash value and are not redeemable, not transferable and cannot be withdrawn (see the Bantasy Bucks page and the Terms of service for the full terms, including the 90-day rolling expiry).
- No purchase is necessary to play or to be eligible for a prize. Bantasy Bucks can be earned for free (for example through registration and daily check-ins). Free, bonus and purchased Bantasy Bucks enter the same contests, on identical terms, with the same chance of winning and the same prize. Buying a subscription or a Bantasy Bucks top-up is never required to enter.
- A subscription buys genuine software features (bigger leagues, analytics, extra slots and similar); Bantasy Bucks included with a subscription are a free loyalty bonus incidental to the software, not a sale of entries. Bantasy Bucks may also be bought as an optional convenience top-up: a purchase of the multi-use in-app currency issued by Bantasy as the operator of the service, not a purchase of contest entries or of any advantage.
- The amount of Bantasy Bucks you use to enter does not buy a bigger prize, a better placing or a better chance of winning. Entry never determines the prize (see Section 5).
4. How winners are determined
- Each contest publishes its scoring rules and the points period before entry.
- At the close of the contest, entrants are ranked by skill score under those rules. The highest-ranked eligible entrant is the winner; lower placings are determined by rank.
- Where entrants tie, the contest's published tie-break applies; where a contest publishes none, the prize for the affected placings is pooled and split equally among the tied entrants (see Section 5). Ties are never broken by chance.
- We determine results in accordance with the published rules and, where judgement is required, reasonably and in good faith. We may void entries or disqualify entrants for collusion, multi-accounting, bug exploitation or other breaches of the Terms.
5. Prizes: company-sponsored, pre-announced, never a share of entries
- Prizes are sponsored and funded by Bantasy from its own resources. A prize is not a share of entrants' Bantasy Bucks, entries or fees.
- Prizes are pre-announced and fixed before entry:
- Official Bantasy competitions (run by Bantasy and open to non-members): a fixed, company-sponsored prize amount per competition, published before you enter. The amount does not change with the number of entrants.
- Members Club competitions (run by Bantasy for members only): a fixed, company-sponsored prize amount per competition, published before you enter. Entry requires an active Bantasy plan, which is a paid subscription or the once-per-account free trial month, and that free month counts as an active plan for its duration. To receive a prize you must hold an active plan at the close of the competition's final gameweek. If your plan ends before then you remain in the competition and on the ladder, but you are not eligible for a prize, and a forfeited prize is not redistributed to other entrants. Access granted to you through an organisation is not a plan for this purpose. This condition applies to Members Club competitions whose final gameweek ends on or after September 7, 2026; a Members Club competition whose final gameweek ends before that date follows the rules published when it opened.
- Sponsored leagues (member-created competitions): a member who holds an active Bantasy plan (a paid subscription or an active free trial month) may sponsor a private league they created, using a hosting slot included with their plan. Members invited to a sponsored league join free, are not required to hold a plan or to make any purchase, and are eligible to win. For each monthly cycle of a sponsored league, Bantasy declares a fixed, company-sponsored prize taken from the published band table below, according to the number of members who took part in that cycle. The prize is not calculated per member, does not increase as members join, and is not affected by any subscription or Bantasy Bucks purchase by any entrant. The published band table is:
- 6 to 9 members taking part: A$40 for Australian-scheduled leagues, £20 for United Kingdom-scheduled leagues and €24 for Irish-scheduled leagues.
- 10 to 14 members taking part: A$60 for Australian-scheduled leagues, £30 for United Kingdom-scheduled leagues and €36 for Irish-scheduled leagues.
- 15 to 24 members taking part: A$100 for Australian-scheduled leagues, £50 for United Kingdom-scheduled leagues and €60 for Irish-scheduled leagues.
- 25 to 49 members taking part: A$200 for Australian-scheduled leagues, £100 for United Kingdom-scheduled leagues and €120 for Irish-scheduled leagues.
- 50 or more members taking part: A$300 for Australian-scheduled leagues, £150 for United Kingdom-scheduled leagues and €180 for Irish-scheduled leagues.
- When a sponsored league carries a prize. A sponsored league carries a prize for a cycle only once at least 3 of its members hold an active Bantasy plan, the host included, of which at least 1is a paid subscription rather than a free trial. Bantasy funds these prizes from its own resources and activates a limited number of sponsored leagues in each cycle; a league that is not activated in a cycle carries no prize for that cycle and is considered for the next one. A league's status is shown in the app before the cycle begins.
- Taking part. A member counts as taking part in a cycle if, at each gameweek deadline that Bantasy counts for that cycle, their squad was complete with a captain selected and was not completed for them automatically by Bantasy, for at least the minimum number of gameweeks published for that cycle, and they made at least one lineup action during the cycle (a transfer, a substitution, a captain change or the use of a chip). Each member can see their own status in the league before the cycle settles.
- When a cycle pays. A cycle pays only where at least 60% of the members counted at the start of that cycle, and at least 6 members, took part as described above. Where that condition is not met, no prize is payable for that cycle; the league continues and the following cycle is assessed on its own facts. Members who join after a cycle has started are not counted for that cycle and are eligible from the following cycle.
- Who wins. The prize for a cycle is awarded in full to the member who took part and whose skill score across the cycle's counted gameweeks is highest. Ties are broken by the highest single gameweek score in the cycle, then by the earliest time the tied members joined the league, and any remaining tie by a fixed rule that is never chance. The host may win. Prizes are paid in the currency published for the winner's region under the band table above: a winner is paid the published figure for their own region for the band the cycle settled at, and published amounts are never converted at an exchange rate.
- Host cancellation. If the host's plan ends, or the host ends the sponsorship, the league stops being sponsored from the following cycle. A cycle already under way runs to settlement and is paid as published, and the members of the league are not affected in that cycle.
- Contests created before August 22, 2026. A member-created contest or challenge created before August 22, 2026follows the prize schedule published at the time it was created, and is not affected by the sponsored-league rules above. Under that schedule the prize is a company-sponsored amount funded by Bantasy at a fixed rate per member per month of the contest's length, up to a published maximum, namely A$5.00 per member per month up to A$10,000 for Australian-scheduled contests, £2.50 up to £5,000 for United Kingdom-scheduled contests, NZ$5.00 up to NZ$11,000 for New Zealand-scheduled contests and €3.00 up to €6,000 for Irish-scheduled contests; the amount grows as members join, is locked when registration closes, and the amount paid is the amount so funded up to that figure. For those contests an entrant must hold an active Bantasy subscription through the final gameweek to receive a prize, and a forfeited share is not redistributedto other entrants; if the organiser cancels their subscription the contest's prize is unchanged for everyone else and the organiser forfeits only their own share.
- A prize is never a share of, or determined by, the amount of Bantasy Bucks used to enter or the entries collected. It is a company-sponsored amount, set and funded by Bantasy and published in the contest's rules before you enter.
- Prize splits. Where a prize is shared across placements (for example winner / runner-up), the split is fixed and published before entry (for example winner-takes-all, or 80/20). This distributes the single company-sponsored prize across ranks; it is not a redistribution of entrants' entries. Where entrants tie, the contest's published tie-break applies; where a contest publishes none, the prize for the affected placings is pooled and split equally among the tied entrants.
- Only a winner, or a placing entrant under a published split, may receive a prize. No prize is payable to non-placing entrants.
6. Prize value and form
- Prize amounts are published per contest before you enter: fixed for official Bantasy competitions, and for a sponsored league the band published for the cycle, as described in Section 5.
- Prizes are paid as cash to the winner by direct bank transfer, after the eligibility and identity verification described in Section 7. Each contest's prize is denominated in the currency published for that contest: Australian dollars (AUD), pounds sterling (GBP), New Zealand dollars (NZD) or euro (EUR), according to the published schedule that applies to it, and is paid in that currency. A contest may publish its prize as fixed amounts in more than one currency (for example A$1,000, with £500 for United Kingdom entrants, NZ$1,100 for New Zealand entrants and €600 for Irish entrants); in that case each amount is fixed and published before entry, and a winner is paid the published amount for their region. Published amounts are never converted at an exchange rate. Prizes are not paid in Bantasy Bucks, and a prize cannot be converted into, or paid as, additional Bantasy Bucks.
7. Claiming a prize
- We will notify winners through the Service and/or by email after results are finalised.
- Before a prize is paid, you may need to verify your identity, age (18+) and location, and provide valid payout details.
- You must claim and complete verification within 30 days of being notified, unless a different claim window is published in the individual contest rules. If you do not, or if you cannot be verified as eligible, the prize may be forfeited and we may, at our discretion, re-award it to the next eligible entrant. That discretion applies only to a prize left unclaimed or unverified under this Section 7; a share forfeited under the entrant-eligibility condition in Section 5 is not redistributed.
- We may withhold or decline to pay a prize where eligibility cannot be confirmed, where there has been a breach of the Terms, or where payment would be unlawful in your jurisdiction.
- Prizes are personal to the winner and cannot be transferred or assigned.
8. Winner publication
Publishing winners is part of running a transparent skill contest. We may publish limited winner details, for example a display name and the skill result (such as rank or margin), leading with the entrant and their skill feat. We will obtain any consent required by law before publishing identifying details. You can ask us not to publish identifying details.
9. Tax
You are responsible for any tax that applies to a prize you receive. Tax treatment depends on your circumstances and jurisdiction. We do not give tax advice and do not represent that any prize is tax-free; seek your own advice.
10. Responsible play
Bantasy is a skill game for entertainment, not a way to make money; Bantasy Bucks have no cash value and most entrants will not win a prize. Set your own limits, take breaks, and reach out if your play is becoming a problem. See the Responsible play page for support resources.
11. General
- We may amend these prize rules, and may vary, suspend or cancel a contest, where reasonably necessary (for example for legal, technical or integrity reasons). Where a contest is cancelled before entry closes, the Bantasy Bucks used to enter will be returned to affected entrants' accounts (Bantasy Bucks have no cash value).
- Our decisions on eligibility, results and prizes are final, subject to the published rules and any rights you have under applicable consumer law.
12. Promoter and contact
The promoter is Bantasy Pty Ltd (ABN 84 698 879 677), Australia. Questions and prize claims: admin@bantasy.co.
