Creator program terms

Short version. If you are on the Creator plan and someone subscribes through your link, you earn a share of what we collect from their subscription, on their first payment and on every renewal after it. Here is exactly how that works, including when we pay it and when we take it back.

1. What the program is

The Creator program pays a commission on subscription revenue. When a member you referred pays for a Bantasy plan, you get a share of that payment. It is a share of software revenue and nothing else: it is not a cut of any competition entry, prize or pot, and it does not change any competition's result.

What you earn depends entirely on how many people you bring and whether they keep subscribing. Most members will not refer 25 people, and we do not promise you will earn any particular amount.

The commission replaces the flat referral reward. It does not stack with it. A member who is not on Creator gets A$5 in cash when someone they invited takes a paid plan. On Creator you earn the commission below instead, because you keep earning on every payment that member makes rather than once. Either way, the mate who joined gets a Bantasy Bucks welcome.

2. Who can earn

  • You need an active Creator plan. That is the plan that carries the Creator program, so nothing accrues while your account is on Free, Mate or Pro.
  • You must be 18 or over, hold an account in good standing under our Terms of service, and be somewhere we can lawfully pay you.
  • You need valid payout details saved in the app before we can pay a commission out.

3. How a referral is attributed to you

  • At registration, or not at all. Your referral link or code has to be used when the member creates their account. If they sign up without it, we cannot attach the referral afterwards.
  • One referrer per member. Whoever's link or code is recorded when the account is created is that member's referrer, and it does not change later.
  • No referring yourself. You do not earn on your own subscription, or on an account you control or share.

4. What you earn

  • 30% of the payment. You earn 30% of what we actually collect from a referred member's subscription payment, net of tax. Net of tax means any GST or VAT on that payment comes off first: we remit that to the tax office, so it was never ours to share. If the member paid a discounted price, the commission follows what was collected, not the list price.
  • For the life of that subscription. You earn on their first payment and on every renewal after it, monthly or annual, for as long as they keep paying and you keep an active Creator plan.
  • 40% once you have 25 or more. When you have 25 or more active paid referrals, the rate goes to 40% on commissions earned from that point on. It is not backdated. If your count later drops below 25, later commissions go back to 30%.
  • What counts as an active paid referral. A member you referred whose paid subscription is current. Free accounts, trials, cancelled plans and lapsed plans do not count.
  • Currency. A commission is earned in the currency the member paid in. We do not convert between currencies.

5. What does not earn a commission

  • An invoice that is only add-ons, for example an extra league hosting slot bought on its own.
  • Bantasy Bucks top-ups.
  • A free trial month, or any other period where no payment is collected. A charge that fails earns nothing.
  • Your own subscription.
  • Competition entries, prizes and pots. The program is a share of subscription revenue only.

6. When we pay you

  • Monthly. We pay commissions out once a month. A commission earned close to a payout run can wait for the next one.
  • Paid per currency. A commission is paid in the currency it was earned in, and each currency is paid separately. We do not convert between currencies.
  • Minimum A$25. We pay a currency out once what you have earned in it, and not yet been paid, reaches A$25 or the equivalent amount in that currency. Anything under that carries over to the next run.
  • Paid to the details on file. We pay by bank transfer to the payout details saved on your account. Keep them current: we cannot pay a commission we have no valid account for.
  • After identity checks. Before your first payout we verify your identity, age (18+) and location, the same checks we run before paying a cash prize. We may hold a payout while those checks are outstanding, and we cannot pay where doing so would be unlawful in your jurisdiction.

7. Refunds and chargebacks

A commission is a share of money we kept. If a payment you earned a commission on is later refunded or charged back, that commission is reversed:

  • If we have not paid it to you yet, it is voided and comes off your balance.
  • If we have already paid it, we deduct it from your next payout. If there is nothing to deduct it from, we may ask you to repay it.

8. Tax

We pay commissions gross, with no tax withheld. Any tax on what you earn is yours to handle, including GST or VAT if you are registered. Tax treatment depends on your circumstances and jurisdiction; we do not give tax advice, so get your own.

9. If your plan ends or changes

  • If you cancel Creator, move to another plan, or your plan lapses, we still pay the commissions you had already earned, subject to the rest of these terms. Nothing further accrues from the day that plan ends, even on members who keep subscribing.
  • If you go back to Creator later, commissions start accruing again from that day, on payments made from then on. They are not backdated.
  • We can end your participation in the program if you breach these terms or the Terms of service. Where a commission is connected to that breach, or to a referral we have found to be fraudulent, we may withhold or reverse it.

10. Fair use and referral checks

  • Promote Bantasy honestly. Do not spam, do not misrepresent what Bantasy is, and never tell anyone they will win a prize or a particular amount.
  • Do not create, buy or control accounts to refer yourself, and do not pay people to sign up.
  • Referral velocity. Referrals that arrive in an unusual pattern, for example a burst of signups from one device or a set of accounts that never play, may be held while we check them. We may pause payouts on the referrals under review, and we will tell you if we do.
  • A referral we find to be fraudulent is invalidated. It stops earning from that point, and commissions already booked on it may be reversed.

11. Changes to the program

We may change the rate, the referral threshold, the payout minimum or these terms. We will tell creators before a change to the rate or the threshold takes effect, and a change applies to commissions earned after that date, never to ones already earned. We may also close the program, in which case we pay out what you have earned up to the closing date.
