The awkward questions, answered.
What Bantasy is, what it costs, who funds a prize and who can win one. If your question is not here, the chat bubble in the corner of this page reaches a person.
What is Bantasy?
Bantasy is fantasy sports with your mates. It is a competitions app, a head-to-head skill challenge, a gameweek tipping ladder and a lineup builder, all in one. Football leads, with footy and league next. It runs in any phone or desktop browser. The iPhone app is on the App Store in Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and the United Kingdom. The Android app is on Google Play.
Is Bantasy gambling?
No. Bantasy is a game of skill. Predictions, strategy and head-to-head play decide every winner, never chance. There are no random draws, no luck mechanics and no lottery anywhere in Bantasy. It is not a lottery and not a pooled-entry competition. Where entrants tie, the tie is broken by a skill measure published before entry, such as the best single gameweek. Where a contest publishes no tie-break, the prize is split equally among the tied entrants. A tie is never settled by a draw.
Does it cost money to enter a competition?
No purchase is necessary to play. Competitions are entered with Bantasy Bucks, the in-app currency, and you can earn them for free: 500 when you create your account, more from the daily check-in, and more again when a mate you invited verifies their email and plays a round. You can play the whole game on Bantasy Bucks you have earned for free. There is no pot. A prize is never a pool of, or a percentage of, what entrants put in.
Who can win a cash prize, and where?
You must be 18 or over and hold a valid Bantasy account in good standing. Cash prizes are only available in eligible jurisdictions. Prize schedules are published for Australia, the United Kingdom and Ireland. A New Zealand contest is served the Australian schedule, so its prize is declared and paid in Australian dollars. Some regions are glory only, which means the same competitions run on a skill-only, no-cash basis. Before a prize is paid we may ask you to verify your identity, your age and your location, and to give us valid payout details.
Who pays for the prizes?
Bantasy Pty Ltd funds every prize from its own resources. A prize is never a share of entrants' Bantasy Bucks, entries or fees. What a contest pays is published before you enter. Winners are paid in cash by direct bank transfer after eligibility and identity verification, never in Bantasy Bucks, and a prize cannot be converted into Bantasy Bucks.
What are Bantasy Bucks?
Bantasy Bucks are the in-app currency of Bantasy. You spend them on cosmetics in the skins shop, and you use them to enter competitions, challenges and tipping. They are free to earn and you never have to buy them. They have no cash value, and they are not redeemable, not transferable and cannot be withdrawn. Bucks you earn for free, the welcome bonus and the daily check-ins, expire 90 days after you receive them. Bucks you buy or get with a plan do not expire. Prizes are never paid in Bantasy Bucks.
What does a membership cost, and can I cancel?
Playing Bantasy is free. A plan is optional and starts at A$6.99 a month or £3.49 a month, billed in your local currency, and Members competitions come with Membership. Membership adds every Members comp, leagues up to 100 members, every game mode, analytics, Coach picks, one league sponsorship with prize conditions, and 700 Bantasy Bucks each month, 2,900 on the season plan. Plans renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel any time in the app's settings or by emailing admin@bantasy.co, and you keep your features until the end of the period you have paid for. Nothing you can pay for ever affects who wins.
Can I run a league for a club, a pub or a workplace?
Yes. Room for 250 players for the season, A$149. It is £75 in the United Kingdom and €85 in Ireland, billed in your local currency. The host buys it on top of Membership. Buy the room on its own and you get the room, not the Members comps. A club, pub, workplace or society organiser on the 250 room shares one code to join the league. Mates can join and play free. Ongoing prizes have separate qualifying-membership and activity conditions. The organiser takes no commission. Once the league meets the membership, activity and funding rules for a prize, the room uses the number of players, up to 250, to set its amount. Buying the room does not waive those rules.
How do I get help from a person?
Four ways, fastest first. Use the chat bubble in the corner of this page, which needs no account and no app. Tap Help in the app, which tells us which screen you were on. Ask in our Discord, where a member has often already solved it. Or email admin@bantasy.co. A person reads every one.
