Terms of service

Short version. Be a decent human. Don't cheat the comps. Don't post things that get us in legal trouble. We can suspend accounts that do.

Your account

  • You must be 18 or over.
  • You're responsible for what happens on your account.
  • One human, one account. No bots, no shared accounts.

Comps and challenges

Bantasy is a game of skill. Entries are denominated in Bantasy Bucks, an in-app currency with no cash value that can't be cashed out or transferred. Where a contest carries a prize, that prize is sponsored and awarded by Bantasy at its discretion under the published contest rules. Prize availability and eligibility vary by location, and no purchase is necessary to play. Outcomes are determined by your knowledge and predictions, not chance.

  • Don't collude with other entrants.
  • Don't exploit bugs to gain an advantage.
  • Don't set up sock puppets to stuff a comp.

Subscriptions and purchases

Bantasy offers optional paid Membership (and the plans that include it), an optional 7-day membership pass where offered, and optional one-off Bantasy Bucks top-ups. Buying anything is never required to play; you can play the whole game for free.

  • What a subscription buys. A subscription buys genuine software features (for example bigger leagues, the private leagues it can carry a prize on, analytics and Coach picks) and includes a free Bantasy Bucks bonus. Introductory free Members Club competitions are no longer offered to new claimants. An existing complimentary Members Club competition grant counts as an active plan for the one competition it covers wherever these terms or the prize rules require one. It does not count towards either of the two member counts a prize league's prize depends on, which are set out in the Prize rules. A subscription is not a purchase of contest entries, prizes, or any advantage in a contest.
  • Plans that are no longer sold. The Pro and Creator plans are closed to new members. If you hold one, it continues on the same terms and renews as described below until you cancel.
  • Room size. Membership holds a private league of up to 100 members. The host of a private league may buy a room for 250 players for the season, in addition to their Membership, at the price shown on the Pricing page in your region. A bigger room is a one off charge for the season. It ends with the season. A league that has grown past 100 players keeps the size it reached. It is a purchase of software features for that league and nothing else: it does not include Membership, and a buyer who holds no Membership is not thereby entitled to enter Members Club competitions. Where a league is in such a room, its prize is read off the published table for that room, which is set out in the Prize rules.
  • Price and currency. Subscription prices are shown on the Pricing page in Australian dollars (AUD), pounds sterling (GBP) or euro (EUR), according to your region. Members in other regions (including New Zealand) are billed in AUD; your card issuer converts to your local currency at its own rate. The price, currency and billing interval you agree to at checkout apply for that term.
  • Recurring billing. Subscriptions are billed in advance and renew automatically (monthly plans each month, annual plans each year) at the then-current price, until you cancel. Payments are processed by our third-party payment providers.
  • Cancelling. You can cancel anytime from the app's settings or by emailing admin@bantasy.co. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep your paid features until the end of the period you've already paid for.
  • Refunds. Refunds and cancellation are covered by our Refunds & cancellation policy, in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
  • The 7-day membership pass. Where offered, you can buy a 7-day membership pass. It is one payment at the price shown before you pay, and nothing renews. For 7 days it makes you a Bantasy member: Bronze gives you Membership, analytics included, Silver adds leagues up to 200 members, and Gold adds leagues with no size cap. A pass never includes the monthly Bantasy Bucks bonus, the prize leagues a plan covers or the Creator program. It also covers one, two or three Members Club competitions, fantasy or tipping, and your seat in each lasts until that competition finishes, after the 7 days end. Where offered, you can upgrade a running pass one step for no more than the difference in price, and it keeps its 7 days. A pass is a membership, not a purchase of contest entries, prizes or any advantage in a contest. New complimentary Members competition grants are no longer offered. Existing grants remain valid, and buying a pass does not use one up. You cannot claim it while a pass you bought is running or waiting to start, and it is still yours once that pass has ended. While your free competition is running, there is no pass to buy on top of it. If a pass is refunded in full, it ends at once, with its features and its prize cover. If an upgrade is refunded in full, the pass goes back to the tier below. If a pass or an upgrade is refunded in full, any upgrade bought on top of it ends at the same time, with its prize cover. A partial refund leaves the pass and any upgrade as they are. A pass bought at full price while another is running is not an upgrade. A refund of a pass or an upgrade under it does not end it, or any upgrade bought on top of it. It keeps its tier and its own 7 days. If it is refunded in full, the pass under it comes back with the competitions that pass covered before. Once a competition it covers has started, a pass bought on the web cannot be refunded unless the law requires it. Even so, if an upgrade bought on the web ends because a pass or an upgrade under it was refunded, Bantasy refunds it in full. Refunds for a pass or an upgrade bought in an app are handled by the store you bought it from, under its rules. The Prize rules set out which competitions a pass covers and how its prize cover works.
  • Bantasy Bucks top-ups. Bantasy Bucks are an in-app currency with no cash value, are non-redeemable and non-transferable, and can't be withdrawn or converted to cash. Bantasy Bucks earned for free expire 90 days after they are granted, on a rolling basis; purchased and subscription Bucks do not expire. Top-ups are optional and, once credited, are generally non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise.

Community conduct

The forum is for talking sport. Banter is fine. The following are not.

  • Harassment, hate speech, doxxing.
  • Sexual content involving minors.
  • Sharing private information without consent.
  • Spam, scams, advertising without permission.

Mods can remove content and suspend accounts. Egregious cases get permanent bans.

Content you post

You keep ownership of what you post. By posting, you grant Bantasy a non-exclusive licence to display it within the app and on the public web. You can delete your content at any time.

Service availability

We aim for high uptime but Bantasy is provided "as is". We don't guarantee uninterrupted service, and we're not liable for indirect losses (lost comps, lost contest entries, etc.).

Termination

You can close your account any time from settings or by emailing us. We can suspend or close accounts that breach these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia, and you and Bantasy submit to the courts of Australia for any dispute, without affecting any rights you have under applicable consumer law.
